I predict that in 2016 the possibilities of a great new beginning will unfold on many levels. I believe that each and every one of us must contribute with positive action, influence and support to promote changes and progress. I am aware it will take unyielding strength, perseverance, motivation and determination from everyone of us to make good things happen in our community and in our world, and I am confident to propose those challenges to all of you by being strong and loyal to my convictions. I take much pride and honor in my convictions. They are my most priceless virtues. Among the New Year’s Resolutions I made today, I made a promise to myself and my loved ones to continue do the best I can, and to provide the most I can in 2016 to positively influence as many individuals possible as a role model, mentor, educator and/or support system. Has Recognizing Same-Sex Marriages Stirred Up Another Angry Bee Hive?

A new topic of concern that is in need of much deliberation and discussion was raised on LinkedIn recently by Dr. Elizabeth “Eli” Sheff, and I want to address this issue, too. It’s the question: Should Polygyny marriages be recognized now, too? Naturally, people are starting to be concerned about “what’s up next” in the good old USA? Probably the same folks who opposed same-sex marriage are the ones with the most fear that legally recognizing same-sex marriage will inevitably lead to plural marriage. Yet historically, polygyny has been far more popular than monogamy in several countries and religions, at least for men of high status or those who can afford it. Yes, we know that recognizing safe-sex marriage would automatically stir up another hot pot of bewilderment, panic and continued opposition for those who believe their way is the only way it should be. The 24 thousand dollar question is this: Did recognizing/legalizing same-sex marriage profoundly change the definition of marriage so that now “marrriage” has assumed the capacity for many alternative interpretations? What if E. L. James had used a seasoned, tough, dominant woman for her fantasy figure instead of the sexual sadist, Christian Grey? What if her main character had been Dr. Charlayne Grenci? I’m going to write about the fear and despair of many elderly citizens. This goes across all nationalities, religions, cultures and societies. I’m talking about all people. I’m referring to the isolation. The loneliness. The emptiness.  Yes… it is depressing for us who still have a healthy, productive life, which is why most people turn a blind eye and run the other way, even turn their backs on folks in their own family or circle of friends. It’s a crime and a sin, but it’s here and there and everywhere, and we must deal with it. Not wanting to leave their home, though alone day and night. Fearing isolation from family because of illness and not being able to keep up and function normally. Or the haunting fear of being taken away from familiar surroundings and put in a strange place, or with a relative that does the favor out of protest? An elderly person’s home is their sanctuary, their comfort zone and their only security. It is one of the only things they have left to count on and cling to. S&M VS TORTURE IN THE BDSM COMMUNITY

Some people, especially law enforcement, have trouble making a distinction, or refuse to recognize the difference between a killer’s torture chamber and a dominant’s playroom, which is sometimes called a dungeon.  A killer’s torture chamber is exactly that, but a dominant’s playroom is for consensual BDSM and role-play, between two or more participants. The truth of the matter is there are predators who stalk for prey in the BDSM community. They recognize vulnerable, needy submissives and they know how to attract them. There are also legitimate BDSM sadists in the leather and BDSM communities. This group are not referred to as sexual sadists, because sexual sadism is listed as a psychiatric disorder associated with illegal activities such as rape, torture and murder. BDSM sadists are looking for willing participants who are counterparts, or masochists, for safe, sane and consensual play. The line that separates consensual BDSM play from cruel or violent BDSM play is a lack of respect for the submissive’s limitations. In my opinion, BDSM play between individuals is no longer considered BDSM, but is considered violence or abuse if the play is forced on a submissive or masochist and their limitations are not respected.
